Getting Started
What is MCQIndia KCET?
A free practice site for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET): topic-wise quizzes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, previous year papers with the official timing and marking, and a dashboard that shows where you are losing marks.
Do I need an account?
You can try a short practice quiz without one. Create a free account to attempt previous year papers, take longer quizzes and keep your scores and progress. Quizzes you took as a guest are saved to your account when you log in.
Taking Quizzes
How do practice quizzes work?
Pick a subject and, if you like, a topic, the number of questions and a time limit. Questions are drawn at random from the question bank. You can move between questions, mark them for review and change answers until you submit.
How is a quiz marked?
As in KCET: +1 for each correct answer and no negative marking, so it is worth answering every question. You can switch on negative marking with your own marks if you want to practise more carefully.
Scores & Progress
Where can I see how I am doing?
Your dashboard shows recent quizzes, accuracy for each subject and the topics where you lose the most marks, with a link to practise each one.
Subjects & Difficulty
Which subjects are covered?
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, the four KCET subjects. Each question is tagged Easy, Medium or Difficult.
Previous Year Papers
What are Previous Year Papers (PYP)?
Questions from real KCET papers, organised year-wise and subject-wise, so you can practise actual exam questions with the official timing and marking.
Which papers can I attempt?
Each subject on its own: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. In KCET every subject is a separate paper, so there is no combined full paper.
How much time is given for each paper?
The official KCET timing. Physics: 60 questions in 80 minutes. Chemistry: 60 questions in 80 minutes. Mathematics: 60 questions in 80 minutes. Biology: 60 questions in 80 minutes.
How are previous year papers marked?
With the official KCET marking: +1 for each correct answer, no negative marking. All questions are compulsory and there are no optional sections. If you want stricter practice, you can switch on negative marking with your own marks before you start.
